Out of consideration for Newsvine, and it being a site I have come to appreciate a great deal, I am doing it a favor here, and publishing only as a "meta" article. Believe me when I say…after the day I've had…it was going to go out to all of Newsvine so my fellow Viners would both know this threat exists, and to clear my name.
Someone was given a user name…lisa-schnieder…and then proceeded to insult me, my friends, and leave comments I would not want associated with my name around on various articles on the Vine. The comments made it clear that this was a purposeful and deliberate assault on my name, and my reputation in the Vine.
I did not hesitate in communicating to Tyler, Calvin, and in sending "malicious user" e-mails repeatedly, and to no avail. I spent my whole day, along with some of my friends, monitoring and reporting this malicious user to Newsvine, with no response. I actually reported one of my own comments in response to this thief by accident, and in notifying me of this, that was the only communication I received from Newsvine all day.
So here I am…at the end of a long day with no help from anyone at Newsvine…not one single response to having my identity essentially stolen. Do I go to bed? No way! No one else is watching out for me, so if I'm going to protect myself, I have to stay up until someone, anyone cares to help me out.
Newsvine is vulnerable. On three fronts:
So…is anyone ever going to redress my issue, or do I have to spend every waking minute following this person around making sure my reputation is not harmed further?
Newsvine. I am a positive contributor to this site. I want to know who this offender is, and I want this malicious user shut down. You took your eye off the ball…now it's in your court.
The Real Lisa Schneider
UPDATE: The culprit was Newsvine user prelusive007. Tyler has banned him and shut down the lisa-schnieder account. Thank you everyone for your help and support on this. Looking forward to a solutions-based dialogue to see if we can fix the issues discussed here, and felt by many.
