Just like the smirking on VP debate, I’m ignoring the puffed chest tactic, and focusing on content of debate.
President Obama, if you declared in the Rose Garden on September 12th (which you didn’t) that Benghazi attack was terrorism the day after the event, then why did you jump on plane that same day to go to Vegas fundraiser? And then jump on another plane to Colorado right after that? Why did you, knowing it was a terrorist attack, then have UN Ambassador Susan Rice go on five Sunday talk shows to perpetuate “spontaneous reaction to Anti-Islam video?” Why did you then continue to perpetuate that myth in your UN Speech, on The View, and in your stump speeches? It’s all on video Mr. President…for all to see how you responded to the attack. Are you banking on us not checking?!
Kerry L. is the man who asked: “Why did State Department turn down requests for more security?” Mr. President, your comments from the Rose Garden:
Start watching at 03:29…for context, as two word reference he made there, his “terrorist attack” two word reference was in regard to 9/11/01, not 9/11/12! There are a plethora of videos repeating “spontaneous attack as a reaction to Anti-Islamic video” as the official reason, well past the day Obama said tonight that he knew it was terrorist attack on 09/12/12, as he told us tonight he "said that in Rose Garden remarks." He just raised the question we have all been asking to an entirely new level…and make no mistake Obama…it will be answered in the next debate. That one is solely on Foreign Policy, and no amount of puffery can save you then…tonight, you dug yourself in even deeper.
Candy Crowley got it wrong…here's how she responded after debate:
Crowley joined her CNN colleagues just after the debate concluded, where she was immediately asked about her Libya-related point.
"I knew that the president had said 'act of terror,'" Crowley said. "I heard it ... [Romney] picked that one wrong fact."
So poor Candy remembered those two words were in his Rose Garden comments, but with no memory of context in which they were spoken, she interjected her “faulty memory” into a very important Presidential election. Shame on her…BIG TIME.
Here’s what was said in hearings by officials that would have answered Kerry’s question:
“Mr. Nordstrom, do you think they were ever going to give you what you wanted?” asked Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio). “What do you think would warrant them saying “You know what, these guys know what they’re talking about and we’re going to meet their request?”
“Thank you for asking that question,” responded Nordstrom. “I actually had that conversation when I came back on leave and for training in February. I was told by the Regional Director for Near Eastern Affairs that there had ‘only been one incident involving an American’ where he was struck by celebratory fire, it was one of Colonel Wood’s employees. The takeaway from that, for me and my staff, it was abundantly clear, we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident. And the question that we would ask is, again, ‘How thin does the ice have to get before someone falls through?’”
Jordan: “Lt. Col Wood and Mr. Nordstrom- were you pulling your hair out? Were you just flabbergasted- ‘What can we do? What can we say? What can we put in writing? What can we say on the phone? What else can we do? Was that your sense and attitude when you got the answers from Washington that you did?”
Wood: “We were fighting a losing battle, we couldn’t even keep what we had. We were not even allowed to even keep what we had.”
Nordstrom: “If I could add to that, I told the same Regional Director in a telephone call in Benghazi after he contacted me when I asked for 12 agents, his response to that was ‘You’re asking for the sun, moon, and the stars.’ And my response to him- his name’s Jim- ‘Jim, you know what is the most frustrating about this assignment, it’s not the hardships, it’s not the gunfire, it’s not the threats. It’s dealing, and fighting, against the people, programs, and personnel who are supposed to be supporting me.’ And I added it by saying ‘For me, the Taliban is on the inside of the building.’”
And for those of you who want to blame it on Republican Budget cuts still:
But when questioned, Lamb denied that budgetary concerns had influenced her decision. committee “It has been suggested that budget cuts are responsible for a lack of security in Benghazi, and I’d like to ask Miss Lamb,” said Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R., Calif.). “You made this decision personally. Was there any budget consideration and lack of budget which lead you not to increase the number of people in the security force there?”
“No, sir,” said Lamb.
And for those of you who believe killing Osama ended anything:
6. Al-Qaeda has more of a presence in Libya than the United States.“Is al-Qaeda more or less established in Libya since our involvement?” asked Representative Dennis Kucinich (D., Ohio) “Yes, sir,” responded Wood, “their presence grows every day, they are certainly more established than we are.”
I wrote this article shortly after Osama was assassinated:
Gee, how did little ole me call that one right? LOL
And that, Kerry who asked question tonight…is your answer. This Administration knew in advance that there were increasingly heightened threats…in fact, two attacks leading up to this one. But, in the interests of promoting “return to normalcy” agenda since Osama kill, they chose to do nothing, even when Stevens and others begged for more security. They want you to think killing Osama ended Al Qaeda…normalcy in region, all is well again in the world, and Obama saved you.
Now President Obama, Kerry will go back to his co-workers, and they will all come to the same conclusion:
You lied, obfuscated, and anyone who watched the events unfold, know what Kerry knows…you lied. Which is why, he and his co-workers wanted an answer from you in the first place!
Then there was the question on gas prices by Phillip Tricolla.
I experienced a de ja vu…Romney returned continuing to counter false accusations by Obama and Biden, stayed on message, called Obama out, repeatedly asked for President’s response on oil drilling. Obama returned with same rhetoric, same false accusations, same “I’m not listening to your answers, I’m focused on the same old talking points I rehearsed” ….BUT, he showed up this time with his puffed chest.
Here’s the difference from Obama ’08…NOW he has a record, and it’s one that he cannot run from. He cannot hide behind false bravado, and feigned indignity. He cannot lie his way through, cover up those lies or hope to win with a pretty lame attempt at being tough…
If you had been really tough the last almost four years…puffed your chest a bit against anyone but your own people…we would not be so close to this fiscal cliff we’re about to fall off…and your own cliff in this election.
He Huffed, THEN he PUFFED...will we LET HIM blow our house down?
